POETRY READING AT EL MUSEO
You are invited to a reading of poems by James McGrath and Catherine Ferguson. They will both be reading from the paintings and drawings in the current exhibit at El Museo, Susana’s Room, a collection of art work from Susan Dickinson Ferguson’s years studying art in Mexico City in the 40’s, as well as work from later in her life, and the work of her daughter Catherine Ferguson.
James McGrath is a visual artist and poet who lives in La Cieneguilla in an old adobe house. He was creative writing instructor at IAIA in the early 60’s and spent twenty years teaching art overseas in Europe and the Far East.
Catherine Ferguson has been painting and writing poetry all her life. She has won two New Mexico Book Awards: one for poetry as co-author of The Sound a Raven Makes, and another for her retablo illustrations in You Who Make the Sky Bend by Lisa Sandlin.
James and Catherine have been writing together since 2000. James has published more than six books of poetry.
