Fruit Trees: Pruning & Pests

Presenter: John Formby

Join the Railyard Park Conservancy and presenter Dr. John Formby of the NM Forestry Division, for a workshop looking at fruit tree care for our unique and changing ecosystem. We will learn about common pests that attack fruit trees in our region and have an opportunity to view bug specimens! Attendees will also go out into the park for hands-on pruning instruction. The Railyard Park has crab apples trees and an orchard of apricot and apple trees that we will learn on. All of the gardens in the Railyard Park are maintained by volunteers and the pruning help is much appreciated! Dress for the weather. Tools and gloves provided, but feel free to bring your favorite loppers and/or gloves!
