FAB LAB POP-UP FURNITURE & JEWELRY @ MOLECULE
Molecule Design and Fab Lab Hub in Santa Fe, NM, are pleased to announce a pop-up show by creators working with local Fab Labs. The show highlights digital fabrication using CAD design, 3D Printing, CNC machining and laser cutting and will be up through Nov. 30, 2018.
Molecule’s founder Adriana Siso explains that her vision is to continually push the envelope of creative design and especially to foster innovation by local New Mexicans. “Collaborating with Santa Fe’s artists and designers has been an awesome experience. We’re thrilled to host this project because of Fab Lab Hub’s ties to the Media Lab’s Center for Bits and Atoms at MIT. New technologies like stereolithography 3D Printing which they have brought to Santa Fe opens new avenues to expand design options. Dream it…Design it…Fabricate It…Change Your World! is one of Fab Labs motos. Sarah Boisvert founder of the Fab Lab Santa Fe chapter is an innovator extraordinaire. We are so proud to be partnering with Sarah in this inspiring event.”
The show will feature furniture by Arjun Bhakta, a Santa Fe native and recent UNM School of Architecture graduate. Arjun is the technical manager for Fab Lab Hub’s two locations: Fab Lab Santa Fe at the Santa Fe Community College and the Archimedes Lab at the Santa Fe Business Incubator. Fab Lab Hub visionary Sarah Boisvert says: “when I saw Arjun’s chair design, I immediately thought, ‘this belongs in Molecule’! Whenever I’m at the shop I feel like I’m at MoMA in New York. And so the Pop-up idea was born.
